takeoff speed
The rate at which AI capabilities and their consequences increase during AI takeoff, often operationalized as the elapsed time between specified capability, automation, or economic thresholds. 'Fast' and 'slow' are meaningful only relative to a chosen metric and thresholds, and rapid takeoff need not involve a discontinuous capability jump.
